Deal or No Deal

Have you heard of the latest craze? I am talking about Deal or No Deal gambling games - if you haven’t played them before, you’re definitely missing out: be in it to win it!

Last week I went to a casino - for the the first time in the last five years. I am talking about the land-based casino, because I am a totally converted online player, playing in online casinos at least three times per week.

Every single inch of the casino is being watched multiple times all the time. Players are being observed as they play; bartenders as they bring out the drinks; croupiers as they deal the Blackjack or spin the roulette; everything and everyone are subject to intense scrutiny.

In retrospect, I probably should not have been surprised. After all, with the amount of money changing hands daily at the casino, it is only normal that there will be people plotting to get their hands on it in a variety of ways, not all of which are legal.

Still, I cannot help but notice that the amount of money going to the surveillance equipment and the personnel manning it must be staggering. Of course, online casinos have to make sure that their software is 100% secure and fair, but that all costs a mere fragment of what their land-based counterparts are paying on daily basis. No wonder that the welcome bonuses, loyalty points, free spins and all the other goodies we’re used to in the online world are something you can only dream about when you play in the brick-and-mortar casinos.

Well, don’t know about you, but I think that for the next five years I’ll be playing only online. For me online is a deal, offline is definitely a no deal 🙂
